TV Series

Charcoal and Acrylic, 6 60'x30' Panels. Televisions with white paint.

My art is about experience: the process of my engagement with the endless sea of trashed objects. I use such physical objects and their mediated images to define the seeming dichotomy within the general economy of consumerism. There is a life emitting from the waste; there is an arbitrary aesthetic attending the physicality of the pile with formal angles, lines, and overlaps. The paintings themselves become objects with regards to viscosity, fetishized layers, and a history of material process. It is important for me to experience the trash physically and conceptually: to engage in a process that examines the objects as a vehicle for the description of the grid.
